This design looks at the coffee table and interactions that take place around it. By creating a dimple in the surface and using a weighted rod, the act of reading the newspaper and also using it as a table cloth are framed together, creating a dialogue between the user and object.
This design reduces the act of displaying magazines to the object itself and string. In a gesture similar to inserting a bookmark, magazines are hung on their own weight, creating a graphic display.
In the same manner that we lean a broomstick against the wall, this design investigates the gesture of pivoting the stick in order to access the hanging clothing.
